Student Success Statement
Regarding Successful Living:

"There's no giant step that does it. It's a lot of little steps."

ANON

I agree with this statement because there cant be one giant step that does it. Only by taking little steps you will get to do what you wanted to because you didn't miss a thing, but with a giant step you may get it done but you miss so much by simply just stepping over them or passing it by.

Recreation Therapist

Recreation therapists work with patients to keep them from becoming depressed with themselves and life in general. They keep patients busy with activities and projects like athletic events, field trips, dances, games, and crafts.  Recreation therapists also use dogs or kittens to keep their patients happy and interested. Frequently, they work with mentally ill, aged, and physically disabled patients in medical centers, nursing homes, adult day care centers, mental health agencies, park programs, and recreational centers.
Average Salary: $32,000- $35,000

Students should take challenging science, math and English courses in high school. A bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation is usually required to become a recreational therapist. Physiology, helping skills, anatomy, characteristics of illness, and psychology are some of the required courses. Many states require that therapists be licensed.

Student Success Statement

"Right is Right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong, even if everyone if for it."

William Penn

I agree with this quote because, it is true in every aspect you see this in. Because no matter what you do if its right then it will always be right and if you do something wrong then it will always be wrong.

Thoracic Surgeon
Duties & Responsibilities:
A thoracic surgeon is a medical doctor who performs operations on the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other organs in the chest. This also includes surgeons who can be called cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiovascular surgeons, general thoracic surgeons, and congenital heart surgeons. Thoracic surgeons operate on diseases that occur in the organs inside the chest, and in the bony structures and tissues that form the chest cavity. Coronary artery disease is one of the most common diseases treated by cardiac and cardiovascular surgeons. General thoracic surgeons treat a lot of lung cancer and diseases of the esophagus. Congenital heart surgeons care for babies and children with holes between the heart chambers or abnormal connections within the heart. Listed below are some examples of diseases treated by thoracic surgeons.
Education:
Thoracic surgeons have to graduate from medical school and commonly go on to complete a five-year general surgery residency. After this they must successfully matriculate through an approved cardiothoracic surgery residency program for either two or three years. Some thoracic surgeons choose to do additional training in a sub-specialized area but this training is largely optional, except for congenital heart surgery.
